Specialized Department-Department of Radiation Oncology

Department Introduction

The Department of Radiation Oncology of Foresea Yihe International Medical Center is the first unit in Zengcheng District, Guangzhou to carry out tumor radiotherapy. It has a team of highly qualified, highly educated, professional, and technically comprehensive talents with a reasonable echelon structure.
Department Director Zheng Jian has extensive experience in radiotherapy and comprehensive treatment of gastrointestinal tumors, including rectal cancer, esophageal cancer, and liver cancer, as well as prostate cancer, cervical cancer, breast cancer, and lung cancer. He is a well-known scholar in the field of rectal cancer radiotherapy in South China.
Deputy Director Chen Jun is familiar with the principles of radiotherapy and the standards for comprehensive treatment of various malignant tumors. He excels in using three-dimensional conformal intensity-modulated radiotherapy (IMRT, VMAT) to treat various solid tumors, such as nasopharyngeal carcinoma and lung cancer.

Treatment and Services

1) Scope of diagnosis and treatment
Radiation therapy for various types of tumors.

2) Featured Projects
Linear Accelerator: The Elekta Infinity is a new linear accelerator designed for modern radiotherapy techniques, enabling state-of-the-art Stereotactic Radiosurgery (SRS) and Stereotactic Body Radiation Therapy (SBRT) with efficiency and precision.
It is the latest generation of an intelligent digital control system, integrating a radiation-hardened, high-resolution optical encoder (Agility) and advanced four-dimensional real-time image acquisition functions to ensure a rapid and accurate treatment process.
The Elekta Infinity in our hospital is equipped with Flattening Filter-Free (FFF) high-dose rate energy mode, which is 2 to 4 times higher than the current standard dose rate.
Combined with the radiation-hardened, high-resolution optical encoder, it fully utilizes the potential of high-dose rates, enabling rapid and flexible completion of three-dimensional conformal intensity-modulated radiation therapy (IMRT), volumetric modulated arc therapy (VMAT), SRS, and SBRT.
GE CT Discovery CT590 RT: The latest GE CT Discovery CT590 RT is an internationally advanced free-breathing gated, diagnostic-grade, large-aperture radiotherapy simulation CT scanner.
The Discovery CT590 RT leads a series of innovative technologies, breaking through the limitations of 16-slice CT hardware and significantly improving core hardware standards. It lays a solid hardware foundation for achieving gated scanning of moving tumors and dynamic tracking of internal anatomical structures, making it the industry's only third-generation simulator-guided radiotherapy CT scanner.
Whether in terms of image accuracy or operational convenience, it fully meets the needs of the radiation oncology department. The entire machine is built on the ultra-high-end Gem CT hardware platform, ensuring advanced performance and providing strong support for the higher and faster development of the radiation oncology department.
