Department Introduction

The Department of Breast & Thyroid Surgery at Foresea Yihe International Medical Center consists of vascular surgery and breast surgery. Vascular surgery focuses on the treatment of peripheral vascular diseases, while breast surgery focuses on the diagnosis and treatment of breast-related diseases.

Treatment and Services

Common diseases treated:
Varicose veins of the lower extremities, including simple varicose veins of the superficial veins of the lower limb, thrombophlebitis, deep vein thrombosis (DVT), and chronic venous insufficiency.
Breast tumors, including breast cancer, breast sarcoma, phyllodes tumor, fibroadenoma, lipoma, breast cysts, intraductal papilloma, breast nodules, sclerosing adenosis, granulomatous mastitis, acute mastitis, tuberculous mastitis, simple epithelial hyperplasia of the mammary gland, gynecomastia, and accessory breast tissue.

Common treatments include:
Fine-needle aspiration biopsy (FNAB) of thyroid nodules, microwave ablation, lobectomy, and total thyroidectomy for thyroid cancer, breast tumor resection, segmental mastectomy, modified radical mastectomy for breast cancer, breast-conserving surgery, sentinel lymph node biopsy, and breast reconstruction.
For vascular diseases, treatments include arterial bypass grafting, endarterectomy, endovascular intervention, aneurysm repair, traditional and minimally invasive treatment of varicose veins, anticoagulation therapy, thrombolysis, and inferior vena cava filter placement for deep vein thrombosis. These procedures comprehensively cover the diagnosis and treatment needs of thyroid, breast, and vascular system diseases.

Specialty Treatments
The department provides endovenous laser ablation (EVLA) for varicose veins. It also specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of nipple discharge and non-palpable breast lesions, as well as the early diagnosis, standardized, and individualized treatment of breast cancer. Other advanced procedures include core needle biopsy (CNB) of breast lesions, minimally invasive biopsy techniques, minimally invasive resection of fibroadenomas, modified radical mastectomy, breast-conserving surgery, and sentinel lymph node biopsy for breast cancer.
