Has been engaged in the clinical diagnosis and treatment of general surgery for more than 40 years. He has extremely rich clinical experience in colorectal tumors, inflammatory bowel disease and benign anal diseases. He is one of the leaders in promoting the development of colorectal and anal surgery in China. He was one of the first in China to carry out laparoscopic radical resection of colorectal cancer and led young doctors in the discipline to master laparoscopic technology. He is particularly good at handling difficult cases in colorectal surgery, such as precision functional sphincter-preserving surgery for ultra-low rectal cancer (NOSES-PPS, surgical treatment of locally recurrent rectal cancer, retroperitoneal tumors, rectal and anal stromal tumors, surgical treatment of Crohn's disease, ileal pouch−anal anastomosis, etc.
In 2016, the clinical research project that his team completed after 20 years: Key technology system for preserving anal function, sexual function and fertility function in rectal cancer treatment, won the second prize of the State Science and Technology Advancement Award.
